The details

Information you choose to give us

If you write to us through the contact form, we receive what you put in it. We use it only to deal with your message.

Information collected automatically

When a page loads, standard server logs and analytics record technical details of the request. We look at them in aggregate and do not try to work out who you are from them.

Advertising

We carry advertising from third-party networks, including Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a person’s prior visits to this website or other websites, and Google’s advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, allow it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits.

Personalised advertising can be turned off at Google Ads Settings. Many other vendors can be opted out at aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative. See also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cookies

Our Cookie Policy lists the categories of cookie we use and how to control them.

Your rights

Whoever you are, you may ask us to show, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. California residents have additional rights under California privacy law, including opting out of the sharing of personal information for advertising. Visitors from the EEA and the UK have the rights set out in the GDPR, including objection, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Use the contact form to make a request.

Keeping and protecting data

We keep contact messages for up to two years unless the law requires longer, and technical logs for far shorter periods. We use HTTPS, restrict access to our systems and review who can reach them, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children, links and changes

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Links to other websites lead to places we do not control, and their policies apply there. When we revise this policy we update the date above.
